Octopolis by SS Julian

from $12.00

What is a young adult sci-fi/fantasy comic book about an anthropormorphic octopus civilization doing in a map store? Well, it may be completely invented but it is so thoroughly invented that it deserves as much as a space in the Map Center as Dinotopia or Lord of the Rings or any of the other fictional stories that are almost impossible to imagine without a good map.

Holdfast is the first chapter of the adventure, a tale of a young octopus named Kurita who finds an ancient artifact that threatens to upend her cephalopod civilization that exists in a post-human waterworld.

The First Spear is something of a prequel- a story of mythology that undergirds the fantasy realm of Octopolis and a fascinating work of imagination in itself.
