All Over the Map by Betsy Mason and Greg Miller

Easily my favorite history of maps I’ve found. It’s a delightful hardcover exploration of humankind’s age-old problem: how do I tell someone about a place they can’t see? Technical maps, military maps, fanciful maps, city maps, tourist maps, propaganda maps... they all meet here.
